Friday a.m.'s visitor. |
1. 4 deer in the valley at the bottom of our field- pretty common, but beautiful none the less.
2. A tiny Spring Peeper frog on the doorknob of our entryway. Very cool!
3. We heard our first frogs this week! M is really excited about this. They're her favourite.
4. A ring-necked pheasant crossing the road, and strutting his stuff to attract the ladies.
5. Saturday we heard and saw 26 Sandhill cranes circling and calling over our fields.
The calendar may still say it's Winter, but on our hundred acres it looks a lot like Spring.
Very cool Randy and Meagan! Now I can visit the farm whenever I want! So... You said you would answer questions. How many critters and what kind do you have on the farm now. I am sure it has grown since I visited!

Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your question. Currently we have 27 ewes about to begin lambing in the first week of April, 2 rams, 6 hens, 2 roosters, 1 cat (Tiger) and 2 dogs (Levi and Allis). In May we are getting 50 day old chicks and 20 day old ducklings to add to our menagerie. There were a dozen eggs waiting for us today. Our girls are ambitious :)
